Every ranking is backed by lab data, 30+ days of real-world use, and sources we publish. We don't chase trends — we chase measurements.
Our Story
Clean Living Lab started because the internet was full of "top 10" lists nobody had actually tested. We buy every product at retail, use each one for 30+ days, ship samples to an ISO-17025 accredited lab when it matters, and publish what we find — pros, cons, and the ugly stuff brands wish we'd leave out.
Meet the Team →Our Methodology
Every ranking on this site comes from hands-on testing — not press releases. We pull contaminants from tap water, run each filter against the same sample, and ship the output to an accredited lab before anything makes a top-five list.
01 — How we rank
We send filtered water to an ISO-17025 accredited lab and compare the certificate of analysis to every manufacturer claim.
02 — What we measure
PFAS, lead, chlorine, chloramine, VOCs, fluoride, microplastics, TDS. Flow rate and cost-per-gallon too — a filter that clogs in a month isn't a real recommendation.
03 — Certifications
We favor products certified to NSF/ANSI 42, 53, 58, 401, and P473. Marketing claims without third-party certification get flagged.
04 — Editorial independence
We buy every product at retail. We never accept payment for a ranking, a review slot, or a badge. Brands hate this. Readers don't.
